I understand there's a "command zone". What zones are there, and what are their functions?

If your general leaves play you have the option of putting it in the command zone or your graveyard. vanguard and planechase both chill in the command zone as far as I know. besides that there's a different list of rules on banned and restricted cards, but the game works exactly thes same. |

Other than the command zone, the game works exactly like normal magic. The purpose of the command is to hold the general while it's not on the battlefield and to hold active Planechase planes while they're being used. |
