Unlike any set before it (that I know of), Zendikar draft really pushes or enables monocolored decks (with cards like Armament Master, Gatekeeper of Malakir, Elemental Appeal and Primal Bellow. Drafting a mono-colored or almost-monocolored in one of the these colors is possible and profitable sometimes. Do you think the same could be said for blue, or does it go only with another color?

Well, i think that when thinking of mono deck drafting you can't look at the rares and mythics like that, you gotta look at common and maybe uncommons a little. I think that the good flyers may often be taken by other player because they are splashable (eel, welkin). I think the only way of mono drafting blue would be to be in middle of four people who absolutley hate it, and I don't see a real advantage to playing mono blue, there are no cards costed UUU or even UU, there are also no cards that ask you to count your islands for a bonus. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong about such cards. |

The short answer is "not really". Aside from nut draw like Turns 3,4, and 5 Umara Raptor or turns 1 and 2 Hedron Crab turn 4 Living Tsunami MonoU is probably just to slow, and to unreliable. That said, UB aggro is really nice. |

I'm pretty sure you can. Blue gets some really nice flyers in Zendikar (Umara Raptor and others) and even has some bombs (Roil Elemental, Lorthos the Tidemaker, Rite of Replication, Sphinx of Jwar Isle and maybe others). With Paralyzing Grasp, Merfolk Seastalkers and Into The Roil as semi-removal (and let's not forget Cancel, Summoner's Bane and Mindbreak Trap), I think you can pull a good monoblue deck. However, it's gonna be a lot harder in a draft than a monored or monogreen, IMHO. Perhaps you can go for a counter-deck with Lullmage Mentor. I'm not sure that would work though.
