This is my tournament style artifact destruction deck. It may seem like there's a ridiculous amount of cards involved, but due to the mana searching cards (Oracle of Mul Daya, Sylvan ranger, Harrow, Etc.), the deck runs amazingly fast (I've actually run out of mana to play by turn 5 in some occasions). What I want to do with it is trim the fat, so to speak, and remove whatever may be overly redundant.

--Land:

1x [[[Copperline Gorge]]]

1x [[[Raging Ravine]]]

1x [[[Evolving Wilds]]]

1x [[[Terramorphic Expanse]]]

1x [[[Rootbound Crag]]]

5x Mountain

10x Forest

--Artifacts, Spells, etc:

4x [[[Liquimetal coating]]]

2x [[[Horizon Spellbomb]]]

1x [[[Explore]]]

4x [[[Naturalize]]]

2x [[[Lightning Bolt]]]

2x [[[Harrow]]]

1x [[[Mycosynth Lattice]]]

1x [[[March Of the Machines]]]

2x [[[Shatterstorm]]]

2x [[[Creeping Corrosion]]]

1x [[[Darksteel forge]]]

2x [[[Artifact Mutation]]] **Card not legal in Modern setting

1x [[[Obliterate]]]

--Creatures:

3x [[[Llanowar Elves]]]

4x [[[Sylvan Ranger]]]

3x [[[Hoard-Smelter Dragon]]]

3x [[[Molder Beast]]]

3x [[[Sylvok Replica]]]

2x [[[Oracle Of Mul Daya]]]

2x [[[Acidic Slime]]]

1x [[[Terastodon]]]

1x [[[Master of Etherium]]]

Strategies:

-I know some of you are wondering why are there blue cards in this deck when you don't run any islands? One of the key cards of the deck, Mycosynth Lattice, allows me to tap my lands and make them produce any color mana I desire.

[[Mycosynth Lattice]]

-Mass land destruction:

Cards involved: Mycosynth Lattice, Master of Etherium, March of the Machines.

You have to play the cards in that exact order. Mycosynth Lattice will turn every permanent in the field into an artifact. Master of Etherium will add a +1/+1 counter to every creature you control (not to mention buff itself for every artifact in the field). March of the Machines will turn every artifact into an artifact creature with power/toughness equal to its converted mana cost.

Now, what happens to a card with 0 toughness? It goes to the graveyard. This will happen to every land on the field except yours. Why? Master of Etherium buffs your creatures, effectively saving your skin.

-Repetitive Mass Destruction (for those pesky token spammer decks):

Cards Involved: Mycosynth Lattice, Darksteel Forge, Shatterstorm/Creeping Corrosion

After you turn the entire field into a heap of artifacts, make every artifact YOU OWN INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!! by playing Darksteel Forge. Clean the field with Shatterstorm or Creeping Corrosion

-Basic Artifact destruction:

Cards Involved: Liquimetal coating, almost every card in the deck

Easy, turn single permanents into artifacts, then blow em up to smithereens, or turn them into saproling tokens. These are the usual combos seen on these kinds of decks

-Beatdown:

If all else fails, the deck has an amazing mana flow. Which means you can pretty much overrun the opponent with creatures. Cards like Molder beast and Hoard Smelter dragon buff themselves for every artifact destroyed. A good way to pump these cards is using Terastodon. Transform three lands you control into Artifacts, and use the effects to blow them up, giving you three elephant tokens to boot.

-If ALL ELSE FAILS, call in the nuke, Obliterate the field

Swap the Llanowar Elves for Noble Hierarch?

I know it's not in the flavour, but I'd swap Hoard-Smelter Dragon for Thundermaw-Hellkite. It's wildy more aggressive.

Originally, I did want to put Noble Hierarch in there, but with a pricetag of ~$24.00, I thought Llanowar Elves or even Birds of Paradise would be a better substitute

As for the Thundermaw, whilst equally expensive, It might make a great addition, and Might consider swapping one of the Hoard Smelters for it

Some more substitutions: Galvanic Blast (Scars of Mirrodin) for Lightning Bolt as it looks like you'll have more than enough to meet Metalcraft on each play?

Are you running the Terramopic and Evolving Wilds for budgetary reasons? A more aggro mana base would swap them for Stomping Grounds and Rootbound Crag? Another good swap would be Molder Beast for a trio of Bloodbraid Elf - four mana can net you an attacking creature and say, a Harrow.

I kept the mana searchers while I can get my hands on another Rootbound crag, but I already substituted one for another Raging Ravine. And I don't think the Bloodbraid elves would make much a difference, really, Molder beast is a trump card in my deck.

I would consider swapping two of the Lightning bolts for galvanic blasts, it seems like a good idea. Also, I've added a Hellkite Tyrant, a Genesis Chamber, a Master Transmuter, swap the two Artifact Mutations for two Island basic lands, and a Gleemax for shits and giggles
