http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mass-infect-3-1/ (This) is what I have right now. There's a modern tournement at a local store at 6. They sell commons at .25$, uncommons at .75$, and rares at 2$. I want to make my deck as modern-competitive as possible while remaining in a budget of about 5$.

Here's what I definitely need:

  • [[[Vines of vastwood]]]
  • [[[Groundswell]]]

What else?

Also, what should I sideboard? I have no idea what the meta looks like.

Modern can be an expensive format - I'd consider splashing white for this sideboard:

2 Qasali Pridemage
2 Fracturing Gust 2 Kitchen Finks
2 Stony Silence
2 Torpor Orb
3 Rest in Peace
2 Thrun, the Last Troll
