[[Dryad Arbor]]

For some strange reason, this card gives me a headache. These are some questions I had about it:

  • Can it be countered?
  • Can it be targeted by cards like [[[Doom Blade]]]?
  • How many can you run in a deck?
  • Can you flash cast this? (Via the effects of [[[Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir]]] or otherwise)
  • Does it have summoning sickness?
  • Does it count as your land for the turn?

Anything else you'd like to add would be much appreciated. I know some of these questions can be answered in magiccards.info, but I wanted to make sure I got the right information

Cheers! ~Eddy

  • Can it be countered?

No, it's played as a land, and skips the stack.

  • Can it be targeted by cards like [[[Doom Blade]]]?

Yes, it is a creature, and can be targetted as a creature.

  • How many can you run in a deck?

4, it is only basic lands that can run more than that, which it isn't. If it was, it's typeline would say basic.

  • Can you flash cast this? (Via the effects of [[[Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir]]] or otherwise)

Flash allows you to play cards when you could play an instant. This theoretically includes lands, and since this is also a creature, it would gain flash from Teferi. However, as a land, it can still only be played on your turn, due to a separate rule restriction.

  • Does it have summoning sickness?

Yes, all creatures have summoning sickness, regardless of other types.

  • Does it count as your land for the turn?

Yes, it is still a land and counts as your land for the turn.

Note that giving Arbor flash won't allow you to play it on an opponent's turn. The restrictions on playing lands only on your turn and only once per turn still apply even if the Arbor has flash.

@GrifterMage True, i forgot about that restriction, I'll edit to correct it.
