Hey all got a question kind of about the etiquette of milling and specifically in conjunction with using something like [[[surgical extraction]]]. Say for example I cast [[[traumatize]]] and mill my opponent for 25 cards or so. Now at this many cards I think it is safe to assume hes not gonna flip each one over into his graveyard one at a time, so that, I won't see all the cards that get milled per say. Then when I go to cast my surgical extraction what happens? Do I have to name the card I am extracting as soon as I cast surgical extraction? Now I know the card text reads "choose target card in a graveyard..." which seems to me that I can look through the cards that are in his graveyard, but it doesn't say "search target player's library..." for example like [[[bitter ordeal]]].

You are allowed to look at the contents of a graveyard at any time. If you find something you want to take, then you just play Surgical Extraction targeting that; if not then you shouldn't move to play the card. After a particularly large chunk of the library gets milled, it's always a good idea to check what's in it if you might have plans to do something with the cards there.
