The Extended PTQ is coming soon, and I realy want to play a combo deck. I thought about playing Tooth & Nail combo (which i allready played at the past) with a few changes..

I heard about the Dark Depth's combo, and the Hive mind Combo (which is really cheap to build) but I haven't really tested them up yet...

Certainly not as a 1st pick, but this thing can be very good in the deck if u managed to get it. It's like a lightning bolt to the head of the oponent every turn..

So, after the pre-release i've noticed 2 interesting black cards that actually made me think about the possibility of making a mono black discard deck..;

[[Quest for the nihil stone]] and [[Mire's Toll]]

We allready have this;

[[Duress]] [[Mind Sludge]] [[Hypnotic Specter]]

And maybe even

[[Mind rot]]

With removal spells,maybe some manlands and maybe even splashing red for burn spells..?

Do you think there's a potential in this kind of deck at the current standard metagame?

I think he'll see play in constructed. and just the fact that he is the only planeswalker that have 4 abilities makes him more expensive..

Besides, look at his abilities; brainstorm effect for 0 counters, -1 to get 1 of the opponent's creatures out of the board.. and he costs only 4 mana to play.

What do you think guys?? think he'll show some play? I think that he worth a shot in a valakut combo deck.

[[Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle]] with [[Khalni heart expedition]] + [[Harrow]] + [[Rampant Growth]]

And maybe more land bringers,burn spells and stuff. this way, i think this little gem can bring in 5/5 dragons pretty quick. His only problem is that he's only 1/1:=\ but there are ways to protect him..

Well, after the pre-release yesterday it seems that black & red are still the dominant colors, (although all the other colors got boost as well)

No doubt that Cunning Sparkmage is a very very good card, and maybe even a 1st pick if u dont got some seriously fat bomb..

Searing Blaze is also very good card to pick.. and also the new blue "mind Control", Vapor snare that is also very nice pick..

Hrmm, at the moment, there aren't any competitive combo decks at the meta game.. it's just Jund, Jund, and some more Jund..lol

But i think the new card from worldwake: Omnath, locus of mana, can provide some creative ideas.

I think i would've take Ob nixilis. the current format of zendikar is very very fast format to play, and i think ob nixilis is more suitable and strong. as it was said before, he can finish games this way or another just with his ability.

I think blue white and red are the better colors. usually, i like to draft blue/white flying beatdown deck with removals and good stuff:P. black is also good color to draft as well. i dont like to draft green, it's really limited and even slow sometimes.. but with the right picks, i guess it can be OK.

At the right time, i think any bouncer(into the roil or aether tradewinds), removal spell/creature (Bazaar Trader) and basicly every card that can give u the ability to get the dude out of the board. (all of the above are great^^)
